The coopération between Paris Opera and Teatro Municipal Santiago, which was signed in 2023

has been extended last week in Santiago de Chile.

From the Instagram account of Teatro Municipal de Santiago, I quote (translated):
"The ceremony had the participation of Mario Desbordes, mayor of Santiago and president of the board of the Municipal Theater of Santiago; Tiphaine du Rostu, director of projects of the Paris Opera International Branch; Rodrigo Astudillo, general manager of the Theater and Carmen Gloria Larenas, general director of the Theater.

This signature, made during the interval of the performance of "Swan Lake", starring French institution dancers Ines McIntosh and Shale Wagman, will allow continuation of the joint work started in 2023 with the goal of achieving the world's first certified dance school under the seal of the Paris Opera."

"The general director of the Municipal Theatre of Santiago, Carmen Gloria Larenas, received the medal of the Order of Knight of the Legion of Honour, one of the most important awards granted by the Republic of France to French and foreign nationals who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields and contributed to dialogue between this nation and the world.

The medal was presented by the French Ambassador to Chile, Cyrille Rogeau, at an official ceremony at the French residence, where director Carmen Gloria Larenas expressed her joy and honour at receiving this important distinction:

"France has always been an intellectual and aesthetic inspiration
for the world, and this recognition reaffirms my conviction that culture is the most honest and enduring dialogue between nations."
